Bishop James E. Griffin is the esteemed founder and leader of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship in Pearl, Mississippi. His journey in ministry began in 1995 when he was appointed as a pastor under The Mississippi United Methodist Conference, where he faithfully served multiple congregations across the state for 14 years.
​
Stepping out in faith, Bishop Griffin established New Beginnings Christian Fellowship, a thriving church dedicated to spiritual growth, community impact, and transformative worship. In addition to his pastoral leadership, he is the founder and CEO of UP-LIF Ministries (Uniting Pastors & Leaders in Fellowship), an organization committed to empowering church leaders and fostering unity in ministry.

A retired U.S. Army war veteran, Bishop Griffin honorably served during Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. A native of Meridian, Mississippi, he is a devoted husband to Juanita Brown Griffin and a proud father to four children: Christopher Terrell, James Sterlen, Jamya Alexus, and John Issac.

Bishop Griffin holds an Associate of Arts degree in Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministries and Biblical Studies, equipping him with both the spiritual and administrative expertise to lead with excellence.
Under his leadership, New Beginnings Christian Fellowship continues to be a place "Where New Life Begins," inspiring individuals and families to grow in faith, service, and purpose.
